she ate her red paint the other night. i asked her what it tasted like, and she responded, "Ehhh, like blue!" ;-)

my favorite right now is when she laughs at something, she follows it up with "oh, skylar, you're so funny!"

when she's hiding from us, and we ask "where'd skylar go?" she shouts out, "I found me!!" ;-)

Skylar wants to name her new sibling "Daddy" if its a girl, or "Bubba" if its a boy. WTH?

MARCH MADNESS!

I am so behind on blogging! We had a ton going on in march. I went to NYC to host a baby shower for my sister-in-law, Krista. It was a wonderful and quick little get-away. Skylar stayed home with her daddy. ;-) The next weekend, Russ worked the St. Louis homeshow while Skylar and I went to Dallas for my cousin's wedding. Of course, little miss thought the party was for her. She danced like it was nobody's business! When the band took a break, she pointed to the stage and shouted, "MUSIC!" It was hilarious!

Over Easter, and spring break time, Russ' kids, Zach and Kathryn, came to visit us for a week. It was loads of fun! The Easter bunny visited our house and left a bunch of eggs in the backyard filled with candy and cash! He also left all 3 kids baskets. We had a wonderful easter. The girls made cookies while the boys played games. During that week, we also went to the zoo, the arch, and out to our lake house for a few days. We are anxious to have the kids back with us this summer.

i wish i had a scanner! skylar wore my easter dress from 1981 out to dinner with some family. she looked exactly like i did when i wore the dress. of course, she was darling. check her out!

little miss chatterbox

skylar has a lot to say these days, and we love her pronunciations. a few examples...

walu = water

tiss = kiss

caka= cracker

laaa = lap (i.e. i want to sit on your lap)

nana = banana

seeweeal = cereal

aaahyou? = where are you?

ditsy = grancy

montey = monkey (this is our current favorite!)

she also says quite a few things perfectly...

skylar loves daddy! the other night, when russ was going out the door, he gave me a kiss and said bye to skylar... she said "KISS?" to him, of course wanting her kiss from daddy too. it was too cute. she's been asking him for kisses a lot lately. she gets so wound up when she hears the garage door open in the evening b/c she knows dad's home. she drops everything and runs to the back door to greet him with a squeal and a hug.

dallas

in january, we went to dallas to witness and participate in skylar's cousin oliver's adoption finalization. it was a wonderful experience and we all loved officially welcoming oliver into our big extended family. skylar was a hoot at the courthouse. she missed her nap but kept on truckin! skylar knows that shes pretty as soon as we put her in a dress and tights. she twirls and says "pretty!" but nobody looked cuter than oliver that day! he was decked out in his sunday best and was such a handsome little fella! aunt mimi put us up in an awesome hotel. we also got to visit with some family on my dad's side. it was nice to see them.

christmas

skylar had the time of her life this christmas! we had our family christmas at home on christmas morning. skylar got a sit n' spin, legos, an alphabet caterpillar, crayons and a coloring book, to name a few from mom and dad. she loved handing out presents and helping us unwrap our presents. on the 27th, we spent christmas with grancy, grandpa, charlie, his girlfriend megan, michelle, shawn, and oliver. it was a wonderful day. skylar played santa and handed out all the gifts her little body could tug around! she ate a big turkey dinner, loved on oliver a lot, pushed around her baby stroller for hours on end, and finished the night just as sweet as she started! we kept thinking that she was going to melt down but she just kept on trucking, being her cute little self until we went home and she went to bed. it was a great day!
